Many entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, netentrepreneurs, opportunists, call them what you will, but they will all say this about modern times: It has never been easier to make money. Why? Well, without any question of doubt, technology has a lot to do with it and in particular the birth of the internet. Jobs and the variety of jobs have changed a lot too over the years. With the technological revolution, a plethora of new employment opportunities have been created.

Cleaner, higher paying jobs that require mind over muscle. Although many still earn a crust doing manual work, the real bucks to be had are quite often found in the virtual world. This is where I make money.

Not everyone makes money as an entrepreneur of course, as a lot of people still prefer the security and fringe benefits that working for an employer offers them. However, there are still a lot of folks that dabble in the virtual world as a source of additional income. Although I make money solely online these days, there are plenty of folks that feel it’s not for them, and for some, it never will be.

The internet has opened up a whole new world for me. A world I never thought I’d see let alone succeed in. You see, I left school at 15, I had no education to speak of, and started my young life as a toilet cleaner. I hated the job and I just knew one day that I would be able to break free and make money in some other way. I had no idea what at that time but I knew there had to be more to life than this, even for an uneducated kid from a run down part of town.

So, you may be wondering what it is I do exactly? Well, it’s no big secret. I simply make money by selling online. It all started out one day when I found myself remembering something my father had said one time when he returned home with an old wood saw that he’d found on a local dump. He said, “Boy, this is a perfectly good wood saw someone has thrown away. Always remember that one mans rubbish is another man’s gold. Where there’s muck there’s always money”. It was these words that got me thinking and consequently launch my online career. I started off by rummaging around for stuff that folks had thrown away, then, after cleaning it up a bit, I’d post it on a local forum where folks used to buy and sell stuff.

I got pretty well known and trusted online over time and I eventually opened my own eBay store where I shipped all kinds of products all over the world. I also specialize in used motorcycle parts for classic bikes as I realized very early on that niche markets is where the real money was to be had. In addition, I’ve gotten into the virtual products too, and quite often I make money by purchasing domain names and websites, then flipping them for a profit.

Not only do I make money online but I make good money. In fact, sometimes I make more money in a single day than I did in a month as a junior janitor. Life is just great today. I’ve become a netentrepreneur and found the whole thing incredibly easy. My quarterly earnings have gone up every quarter since I started doing this full time which was 2 years ago this month (June 2006). In my view, there has never been such great opportunity for so many, as long as you are prepared to work for it.

I’m not the brightest lamp in the street but I quickly learnt about the simplicity of doing business, and that goes for any business. You buy a product or set up a service for one price and you sell it for more than you paid. The rest is pure detail, but as my dad always used to say KISS – Keep It Simple Stupid! He he! I have no problems with that concept.
